Using Maps URLs, you can build a universal, cross-platform URL to launch Google Maps and perform searches, get directions and navigation, and display map views and panoramic images. The URL syntax is the same regardless of the platform in use. You don't need a Google API key to use Maps URLs.

Use Maps in Chrome Find a place or location in Chrome, without the use of a navigation app. On a web page, touch and hold the address you want to check. Tap View with Google Maps on Chrome. To view route options, tap Get Directions.

You can search for places and locations with Google Maps. When you sign in to Google Maps, you can get more detailed search results. You can find places you've searched for before and search for your contacts by name.
